Lineage of Shaolin Kenpo in Washington
Both Rick and Maria Warwick are recognized as Shaolin Kenpo Black Belts although the version of Ralph Castro's Shaolin Kenpo as it exists today was simply called Ralph Castro's Kenpo Karate. This was the case until 1981 when it became the International Shaolin Kenpo Association.
If you still possess your certification to Black Belt, we ask that you send us a photo of that certificate (well aware that in many cases it was 40 years ago) as proof of such things is paramount. It will be watermarked prior to being placed on the website to prevent theft.
Our list is placed chronologically as to when each person received their Black Belt, rather than by rank recognition. Life can sometimes get in the way, and prevent us from continuing on our path. Our list also contains ISKA recognized ranks which were declined by a couple practitioners in 1995.
Please send those photos to sifujj@hotmail.com
Update 1.27.2025 - Many of the names as shown below have been placed under respective instructors at legacy.shaolinkenpo.com . There is still some fine tuning that we will work with the ISKA to correct. If you would like to discuss an official ISKA certification beyond being listed on their website, please contact Great Grandmaster Rob Castro directly at- rob.castro@shaolinkenpo.com or by phone at (916)367-9013.
Also, if you would like ISKA-recognized certification regarding a colored belt achieved while training at any of the Shaolin Kenpo schools in Washington State, please contact Mike Skinner Jr. at sifujj@hotmail.com so that these can be forwarded to the ISKA.
Thank you for your patience.
